Šta videti u Segedinu – 24 hours in Szeged

Sharing is caring!

Nothing beats a weekend out of town. This time, Szeged seemed like the ideal destination to take a short break from the everyday fuss. As always, Hungary did not disappoint. After our unforgettable trip to Budapest (read more here), I wouldn’t expect less.

Although Szeged is well known for its spas, its aqua park and for shopping, it has so much more to offer: a stunning architecture that makes walking through the city center a memorable sight. I simply can’t help but admire how much they invest in preserving their historic heritage. And I truly hope that my “artist wannabe” photographs will do justice to the beauty of the third largest city in Hungary – Szeged.

Don’t miss out on seeing the spacious Dom Square, one of the largest squares in Hungary, as well as the Votive Church. Walk along Karasz street and discover magnificent sculptures all over the center of Szeged. Széchenyi square and Klauzál Square are also something you should see. I was very impressed by the Synagogue, even though we did not get the chance to go inside. Szeged also has a small but popular ZOO, great if you’re traveling with kids. If you’re planning on dining at a restaurant, I strongly recommend making a reservation beforehand, otherwise, you might end up hungry in Hungary 🙂
